SMOOTH SAILING . . .
. . .
THE SECOND TIME AROUND

Lucky to Get Back on Board,
the Real Vacation Begins
Six Weeks After the First Try.

The view from our second penthouse suite on the opposite side of the ship shows us the other side of Miami.

Preston's first attempt at videotaping captures the roses dad bought for mom to celebrate Mother's Day and to brighten the room throughout the week.

Surprised by a towel animal made by the cabin steward, Preston and Brooklyn are amazed at just how
such a creature could be made.

Though we forgot floaties, towels, and sun screen, the day at Sun Beach turned out great as both kids loved the ocean.

Highlighting the Cozumel visit was the excitement of parasailing. Both kids were able to tandem parasail with us for a bird's eye view of the island as well as the ship.

From face painting, to slumber parties, to under the sea pictures, the kids enjoy the activities in the playroom and Preston takes a special liking to Heidi, the playroom director.

Two seater jet skis provide a way off shore at Seven Mile Beach. Though Preston wasn't crazy about the splashing water, Brooklyn loved going fast. Renting two allowed us to have fun racing.

Whether formal dinners or simple seven course meals, Preston and Brooklyn proved to be great dinner company. While Brooklyn survived mostly on bread, they were both thrilled when the waiter brought them a special cake to celebrate their 1st cruise. By the second formal night, however, both were too exhausted to make it through dinner and the midnight Gala Buffet was out of the question.

Not sure if the kids would be able to make the climb up Dunn's Falls, our guide assured us they could and helped carry Brooklyn through the tough parts. What a wonderful, beautiful memory for them as they both beamed with pride having climbed all the way to the top.

As the week came to a close, we left with many new friends. The kids had fun saying good-bye to the waiter and bus boy and Preston left the boat with the e-mail address of his new buddy Chris. Greg got to fill the hotel manager in on details from our previous trip home and we enjoyed his stories and hospitality throughout the cruise. With rolls of film, hours of video, and memories we're all sure to treasure for years, our dream vacation ended this time as just that. So, while experiencing the Chicken Pox on board left us temporarily frustrated, now it makes for a great party story, and, as they say, all's well that ends well!

Familiar faces and surroundings bring back memories of our attempted cruise right as we board the ship. As we are being escorted to our suite, we run into the hotel manager who kicked us off previously. Laughingly, we recognize each other and hope to run into him again to share the story of our trip home. Once on board, the twelve deck Rotunda seems to be a familiar sight.

Again, exhausted by the trip getting there, Brooklyn falls asleep during dinner the first night, not even to be awakened by a pirate.
