Getting to Ski Apache
Ski Apache 2007

Another ski trip for 2007. Susan and Greg really enjoyed skiing back in the 80's while first being married. But then along came the kids and skiing became a thing of the past. Two years ago, we finally got the kids up to speed on snow skiing and they enjoyed it tremendously. So each year, we have been making a ski trip to Idaho with the Brown's.

This year, we've been lucky to be able to get a little more skiing in. One month ago, we skied in Albuquerque and the week after this trip, we would again be returning to Idaho. So follow along on our latest ski trip. Included with this trip are some of our good friends from New Mexico.

Arriving in Ruidoso, Meeting Old Friends, and Settling Down...
Getting out of Safford early was nice. On time for once. As we arrived in Ruidoso, we stopped off to meet up with Jenny Latta, a former principal in Safford and Susan's previous Principal, and her husband Lee.

After a nice visit at their cabin, we were invited to dinner with them at a local grill. John, our friend from Roswell, eventually met up with us at dinner.

We had rented a three bedroom condo in Ruidoso to house all of us together. John had already gotten the condo set up and ready to inhabit with food. Later, Wendy arrived with her daughter Shannon. We were expecting Mike and Susie to come up from Albuquerque the next morning.

Getting Ready to Ski

After a good nights rest, we managed to get ourselves up and going pretty much on time. Susan did a great job getting us a good breakfast going. Later, Mike and Susie arrived from Albuquerque to join us.

Leaving the condo, we first went back into town to pick up our ski equipment. Then is was a short 30 minute drive up the mountain with good road conditions.
