Tuesday night Grandpa Randall joined us. Our first visit with him was Epcot on Wednesday Morning. The Epcot ball had been decorated for the new century with a giant 2000 sign. |
Taking a break to watch the musical fountains, Grandpa takes advantage of the perfect photo opportunity. The kids had been excited all week to have Grandpa come and kept both of his hands full as they both wanted to walk right beside him. |
Greg had been excited to ride the new Epcot ride, Fast Track. Taking advantage of the new Fast Pass system, we only had to wait in line fifteen minutes. Without a Fast Pass, the wait was two and a half hours. This ride took you through some various car tests like braking, slippery roads, etc. and then ended with a ride on the track outside which simulated approximately 140 mph. |

After the great 3-D show, Honey, I Shrunk the Audience, Preston and Brooklyn have fun showing Grandpa the jumping waters. |
Wanting to make sure Randall got to see everything, we left Epcot early that afternoon and headed to the Magic Kingdom. |
While the Magic Kingdom was magical, it was also packed. The lines were outrageous and way to long to wait for. We were able to see Lion King and It's a Small World, but Space Mountain and Splash Mountain were over hour waits so we skipped them. On the way out, Preston and Brooklyn decided to try Alien. This thrilling, Sci-Fi show had special effects that even made Brooklyn take Susan's hand, though she says now she only did so because her hands were cold. |

Riding the carrousel was Grandpa's favorite and of course, Preston and Brooklyn didn't mind riding with him. The crowds and the heat proved to be too much so we headed back over the Epcot only to have our Monorail break down and detain us fifteen minutes. We spent the evening watching the Epcot fire works show. Though that use to be our favorite fireworks show of all, it had been scaled down tremendously and proved to be a dud this time. |
