Mom skipped making the Barbie cake this year because we had planned to have cake with lunch at the park, so the cake had to be made so it could survive the trip. As it turned out, it definitely survived--the round trip.

After the long ride home, having cake and opening presents provided a great wind-down activity as each of the girls waited for their parents to come pick them up.




Though tired, everyone had a great day and we all hated to see the adventure end. Brooklyn's 8th birthday was definitely one of her best yet--wait until next year!!!

Unfortunately for mom and dad, this meant that Preston's birthday would be coming up soon. Can they be as creative as they were for Preston's 9th birthday party last year?
