Men in Black is an extremely popular attraction at Universal Studios. Of course, it's always competition between us to see who can get the highest score when it comes to shooting aliens. Greg ended up with an amazingly high score. When he decided to buy a photo which revealed his score, there was a computer glitch and it wasn't his score, but another person's low score. Although they put us back on the ride, he wasn't able to prove that he ever got that good of a score.

After Discovery Cove on our first Monday, we visited Universal Studios, Sea World and Island of Adventure during the next few days. Finally, the Browns arrived on the following Saturday afternoon. We were excited to get to spend time with them and enjoy some of the theme parks all over again. Saturday evening, we went to Sea World and caught a few highlights and adventures. To see more of that visit, see the Sea World page.

The Sunday following their arrival, we venture out to Universal Studios after we take a few minutes to celebrate Father's Day. Greg is used to spending Father's Day in Florida as we seem to be there every year.

Sunday morning just happened to be Father's Day. Greg enjoys the special cards that Preston and Brooklyn made before leaving to Orlando. Preston wrote a great message and Brooklyn's message included super drawings. Greg receives a Discovery Cove shirt for a present.

After squashing everyone into the van, Shelby and Bodie are excited to finally get going. We pack our fanny packs with goodies to keep us going during throughout the day and to make the anticipated long lines a little more enjoyable.

City Walk, and what a walk it is, is filled with photo opts so we always stop and get a snap shot of the kids doing the "Hang 10" thing. It seems that they never get wet.

Timing this shot is Susan at her best. The world behind us rotates and it is a challenge to get the self-timer on the camera to go off at just the right time so we can all be in the picture as "Universal" rotates into place. Although the kids want to get going into Universal, they are always willing to stop and pose for pictures.

With cartoon characters looming, there's always time to get a photo and a signature in their signature book. Susan rarely keeps up with the rest of us when characters are around as she uses the kids as an excuse to meet them all.

Scooby Doo, the movie, was about to be released, thus a quick shot with Shaggy and Scooby was well worth the wait.

Brooklyn's favorite ride at Universal has always been E.T. Adventure Ride. Just before the shot, Greg jumps into the frame.

Bodie's favorite ride is Men in Black, looming in the background.

Back to the Future ride is a 3-D ride into the future in a Delorian car. Just outside the ride exit sits the train which was used in one of the movies.

In the background, it's not the shuttle, but Back to the Future's adventure ride. The shuttle is a model placed in front of the camera to simulate actually being at a space launch. Seeing the picture helps simulate movie magic for the kids.

Shelby is glad to feed Bodie to Jaws. Although Bodie started out liking the Jaws ride, he soon found out that Jaws was mean and scary. He wasn't too excited about seeing this ride again. He said he'll be ready next time though.

Mel's Dinner features four singers that sing 50's songs. This is one of Brooklyn's favorite events at Universal. She stands in the hot sun listening through the whole show.

Twister provides a great adventure actually seeing a simulated tornado appear before your eyes. You even get to see flying cows in this adventure.

Another camera magic to trick you into thinking we were in New York.

A scene right out of Jurassic Park provides a great shot for the whole group. This gets Bodie and Shelby ready for when we actually visit the Jurassic Park adventure ride in the days to come.

If your kids watch Nickelodeon, this is the famous shot of one of their icons. As we arrive at the studio, we were sad to realize that we were too late to let the kids into the Nickelodeon studio and let them get to participate in an actual taping of one of their shows.
As the sun began to fall, and although the park was to remain open for another couple of hours, we were too exhausted to continue and decided to just call it a day. We were glad to get home, shower off the humidity and go swimming back at the time share.

Click to continue the story in sequence and go to Sea World.
